The solution is easy once you know how it's done: Find the letter that is right from the pressed key. The reason that there are uppercase is beacuse caps lock counts as well. 

So we get: 

thisistpicallytheuppermostleftmostkeyonyourkeyboard

And the "uppermost" "leftmost" key is .. the escapekey
